Sheesham Dark Wood Furniture

 

The Sheesham contemporary range is crafted from 100% solid Sheesham solid dark wood (dalbergia sissoo), is a tough, durable and highly attractive rosewood. Sheesham is similar to Mahagony in its qualities. Sheesham is sourced from renewable plantations in northern India. In order to ensure furniture of the highest quality, we only work directly with the manufacturer. The timber is properly seasoned and kiln dried to minimise cracking and splitting.

 

Sheesham, or dalbergia sissoo, is a deciduous Indian rosewood tree, native to the Indian sub-continent and Nepal. It grows predominantly at high altitudes, being able to withstand both heavy rainfall and prolonged droughts. It is noted for its capacity to exist in a wide range of temperatures and climates, and is commonly planted as a shade tree for Indian tea plantations.
